That House In Milford

We're getting there!

Posted on 18 November, 2014 at 9:50

Well, it's been an interesting setup.  This year I have been battling three herniated discs in my neck and I have been taking the setup slowly.  We are very close to being done.  We are on track to have approximately 30,000 lights in the show this year.  New this year are two new wireframes.  One wireframe replaces the old, worn out Keep Christ in Christmas sign.  The other is Santa checking his list (twice of course) which will stand next to the Santa Mailbox (which got refurbished letters over the summer).  Last year we only had 2 mega trees (due to the fact that we made a gigantic sled for the front yard).  This year, that enormous sled will be on the side and we're bringing back the other Mega Tree.  Also, over the summer we made a manger for our Nativity and that will be featured next to the Keep Christ in Christmas sign.  We are also attempting to form a water scene with birds, frogs and of course, what Christmas isn't complete with a fire breathing dragon wearing a Christmas cap!  Hopefully (it must be) everything will be up this weekend.

Also, if you read this in the next couple of days, I'll be interviewed by the Chaz and AJ show on WPLR at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday November 20th.  They also can be found on 102.9 WDRC and 95.9 the Fox in the morning.

So keep a lookout for us and pray that we don't get any rain on opening night.  If it does rain it will postpone us from flipping the switch.

As always, we are continuing our support of the Connecticut Food Bank.  If you have enjoyed our display and continue to enjoy it, please consider making a small donation to the Connecticut Food Bank on our Virtual Food Drive page.

Thank you for your support and we hope you enjoy our efforts.

May you and yours have a Happy Thanksgiving, a Merry Christmas and a joyous New Year!
